Today at 4:45 pm EST from California, Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KO) and Edwin Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KO) will hit the scales for tomorrow night's super middleweight main event on HBO.

Ward, 29, hasn't fought since September 2012, when he dismantled Chad Dawson in Oakland. The super middleweight king was set to face former middleweight champ Kelly Pavlik early in 2013, but that fight was abandoned when Ward decided to undergo shoulder surgery instead of continuing to work with a nagging issue.
Rodriguez, 28, is looking to break through into the elite ranks of the 168-pound division and the sport overall for that matter. Training under Ronnie Shields, "La Bomba" has beaten some solid fighters thus far in his career, but of course nobody anywhere near Ward's level. The same could have been said about Ward before he beat Mikkel Kessler, though. That's why they fight the fights.
