Form guide: United made it seven points from four Barclays Premier League games with a 2-0 success against Crystal Palace. The Reds drew the other league game at Old Trafford, 0-0 against Chelsea, meaning David De Gea has still to concede a goal at home this term. Leverkusen won their first three Bundesliga fixtures before losing to Schalke, but recovered to sink Wolfsburg 3-1 at the weekend. Sidney Sam opened the scoring with Stefan Kiessling grabbing a brace.
Ins and outs: Rafael, Phil Jones, Shinji Kagawa and Danny Welbeck were all sidelined against Palace but the competition for places remains fierce. Nani is suspended after his controversial red card in last season's Champions League exit to Real Madrid. Lars Bender was forced to miss Germany's two recent World Cup qualifiers with a pelvic injury and could be a worry for Leverkusen after also sitting out the weekend fixture at the BayArena.
